Tonight the Pittsburgh Penguins will play the Buffalo Sabres. If the Penguins get a win in any fashion against the team (regulation win or overtime/shootout win) they will become the third team from the Metropolitan Division to clinch their postseason berth.

The Penguins would also clinch their spot if they get 1 point tonight against the Sabres and the Boston Bruins lose at home to the Ottawa Senators in regulation.

To this point so far the Capitals, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks have all punched their tickets to the postseason party.

If today marked the end of the regular season then the Boston Bruins would face off against the Ottawa Senators and the Maple Leafs would play against the Washington Capitals. (wow that would be rough for those you up and coming studs of the Leafs to have to face the desperate and loaded Capitals in the first round.)

Do you think that the Penguins can finish it up and clinch tonight against the Sabres? It appears like this team is going to continue its ever present playoff streak this season as well.

Who do you think wins the cup this year? We will be doing our own Puck Planet predictions in the near future but we would love to hear what your thoughts are as well!

Feel free to let us know in the comments below, thanks! Have a great day!
