The Nashville Predators have a chance, for the 2nd time in their history, to go up in a playoff series 3-0 tonight. The series switches to Nashville and Bridgestone Arena tonight for game 3. The atmosphere will be electric tonight at the Bridge for this one. Still no word on Colin Wilson’s health yet, but the way this team is playing I am not sure I would make any changes.
Here are the 3 keys to tonight’s matchup:
#1 – Be Ready for the Big Line. The Blackhawks were forced, in Game 2, to put their big guns on one line to try generate pressure. Toews, Kane and Panarin had a few really good scoring chances late in the 3rd period. There is no word yet if Coach Quennville will put them together at all in Game 3, but if he does, the Preds need to be ready for it.
#2 – Filip Forsberg. Filip has to become more visable in this series. He has 2 assists and only 5 shots in the 2 games. The Preds need him to be more of the dominate player that he is. A big game from Forsberg could mean a 3-0 series lead.
#3 – Feed Off the Crowd. Smashville will be boiling over with excitement and energy. Anyone who has ever seen a playoff game in the Bridge knows exactly what I am talking about. Both teams will struggle to reach the same energy level that the crowd will have tonight. The Predators need to find a way to harness what the crowd will be putting out and use it to their advantage.
Tonight’s game is an 8:30pm CT start. The game can be seen locally on Fox Sports Tennessee and nationally on CNBC.
