The Nashville Predators will be looking to wipe away the memory of the nightmare that was Game 5 tonight in Bridgestone Arena. Looking to force a Game 7, the Predators will need to be on their A game. They will need to do so after a terrible effort in Game 5 that saw the Penguins have way too many chances to score.

The atmosphere will be crazy in Nashville tonight as, mixed with CMA Fest, the city is expecting over 100,000 people downtown tonight. The excitement level will be high outside and inside the building and the Preds will be looking to pull from that to push them over the top tonight. The Cup is in Nashville, but the Predators want to see it stay in its box for tonight.

As of this writing there is still on work on Ryan Ellis, he remains a game time decision. If he cannot go the hill will be a little bit larger for Nashville. The next man up will have to continue to be the formula the Preds will have to use to push Game 6 over the line.

Here are the 3 keys to the game:

Play Better. Let’s face it, the Preds did not come ready to play in Game 5. I am not sure if they were a little too comfortable after the prior 2 games or if they just were not ready for what Pittsburgh was going to bring. Either way, they must come out on the top of their game tonight.

Forget about Game 5. Every team in the playoffs has played a stinker this year. Game 5 was the Predators. Now they must just learn from it and put it in the rear view mirror. They must have all 19 guys on the ice tonight looking forward and not backward.

Just in case you missed it…PLAY BETTER! Simply put, this has to be the best game of these playoffs for Nashville.

Tonight’s game is in Nashville at 7pm CT and can be seen on NBC.

My name is Daniel Jones, I am from the Washington D.C. area originally, but have lived in Nashville, Tn since 1983. I grew up a fan of the Washington Capitals and I am still partial to them. However, I became a day 1 season ticket holder with the Nashville Predators when they arrived. My wife and I have been hardcore Preds fans ever since. Being asked to cover to the Preds for Puck Planet is both a dream and an honor. I hope to do both the website and Predator fans proud.
