Just wanted to give a bit of an update with what is going on with the team in Sweeden as they prepare for the back to back games against Matt Duchene and the Ottawa Senators this weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Whos in?

Coach Bednar has announced that JT Compher was skating with the normal team practices yesterday as well as Tyson Jost practiced with the team but in a more limited capacity. Collin Wilson is also back practicing with the team and is expected to play. New Blueliner Samuel Girard is expected to play and has been being worked into the Avalanches system and getting him up to speed on the few days break in Sweeden.

Whos out?

Lindholm is out with a broken jaw, he didn’t make the trip, unfortunately. Soderberg is still in Denver as of today as he is awaiting the birth of his child. He may or may not make the trip to join the team for the games this weekend that is yet to be determined. Nemeth did not practice yesterday and will be re-evaluated¬†as we get closer to the games.

Big story?

Almost overshadowing the fact that this is the Global Series happening in Sweeden is the fact that Matt Duchene was traded to the Ottawa Senators mid last game and will play against the Avalanche for the 2 games this weekend. This is going to be quiet an interesting thing to see especially with some rumors of potentially some bad blood in the locker room prior to the deal going down.

What are you most excited about for the coming games this weekend? Do you think that Compher will be up for taking over the number 2 center position with the Avalanche? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and Lets Go Avs!
